The NZ Cross Country Ski Association is the national body that controls cross country skiing in New Zealand. NZCCSA is a member of
Snow Sports NZ which is the National Skiing Federation and is affiliated to
FIS
Mission Statement
To develop cross-country skiing in New Zealand, with particular emphasis on participation and performance.
Strategic Objectives
- To promote participation, particularly at the family level
- To promote health and fitness
- To enable New Zealand Cross-country skiers achieve their goals
- To have athletes competing at the 2010 Olympics.
- To develop and maintain a comprehensive and effective administrative infra structure, and to be financially secure
- To enable New Zealand to be internationally recognised as a quality cross-country skiing location.
- To promote and maintain the development of youth in the sport.
- To promote and maintain a ski instruction and coaching programme.
- To develop the National Championship and Merino Muster races to FIS standard and to promote the Merino Muster race as a World Loppet Race.
- To maintain a pool of appropriately trained event officials.
